John Deere is best known for its mammoth green farm tractors and combine harvesters, but much of its growth potential is in the construction equipment market, taking on Caterpillar Inc (CAT.N) and Komatsu Ltd (6301.T). The brutal U.S. summer drought is killing large swaths of the nation’s corn crop, sparking concerns among investors that farmers could delay new machinery purchases.
